My Summer Movie Checklist:
Harold and Kumar Escape From Guantanamo Bay
Iron Man
Speed Racer (maybe)
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
Hellboy II - The Golden Army
The Dark Knight
The Mummy III - Tomb of the Dragon Emperor
You Don't Mess With The Zohan
WALL-E, The Forbidden Kingdom, Hancock, 'fraid you guys have to wait till DVD.
After the thrill of watching The Dark Knight, it's sort of sad to see the summer movie season officially (at least for me) come to an end. I'll be honest, I went into Mummy III with low expectations. I did come out somewhat satisfied, it was better than expected but not by a whole lot. Oh well.
But anyway, now that my season is over, time for rankings
1) The Dark Knight - Clear winner.
2) Iron Man - Still great, but TDK blew it out of the water.
3) Hellboy II The Golden Army - Enjoyable sequel.
4) Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull - OK movie, WTF ending, but the thrill was seeing Indy on the big screen again
5) Kung Fu Panda - Typical story but top notch animation.
6) Harold and Kumar Escape From Guantanamo Bay - Funny but somewhat disappointed.
7) You Don't Mess With The Zohan - Typical Sandler fare, not one of his better works but not the worst.
8) Speed Racer - Meh at best.
I may yet check out Pinapple Express or Tropic Thunder, but I'm leaning towards not at this moment. But overall, this summer season was a blast, Dark Knight and Iron Man has restored some faith in me that Hollywood hasn't totally lost it.
